IT Support Engineer - UK

We are looking for a passionate IT Support Engineer to join our IT team and help us deliver world-leading consulting services, training and an award-winning SaaS solution. You will be responsible for providing IT Support to the members of our global consulting, customer support and development team as well as supporting the day to day delivery of the IT function. This will be mainly a working from home role, with occasional visits to the London office as and when needed.

What will you do?

  • Working directly with and reporting to the IT Manager in supporting the day to day delivery of the IT function
  • Responding to technical support requests from end-users, taking ownership of the issues, diagnosing and providing resolution to all hardware/software issues
  • Setting up new user accounts and managing user access permissions & requests, performing user access reviews
  • Setting up new laptops, installing and configuring Windows 10, deploying/creating OS images, installing other software applications
  • Managing, supporting and monitoring a hosted environment in Microsoft Azure (Windows Server 2016/2019, AD/ADFS servers, App Service Plans, SQL servers, Application Gateway, Security Centre, patching, backups, NSGs & other resources)
  • Manging company’s Microsoft365 tenants and supporting Azure DevOps/VSTS
  • Maintaining inventory of hardware/software and other information assets
  • Helping with managing information security awareness and end-user trainings
  • Incident handling and management, logging of all incidents & root cause analysis
  • Managing and improving all information/cyber security aspects of the business
  • Managing domain names, DNS records, other SaaS solutions used by the team
  • Creating, updating and improving IT documentation, policies/procedures

Required experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferable in Computer Science, IT or InfoSec/Cyber Security)
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Support (i.e., proven work experience as a Technical Support Engineer, Desktop Support Engineer, IT Help Desk Technician or similar role)
  • A strong understanding of networking fundamentals, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Microsoft Active Directory/Group Policies, IIS, firewall rules, ACLs etc.
  • Good technical skills in the following technologies:
    • Microsoft cloud solutions - Microsoft 365 and Apps Suite, Microsoft Azure, Azure DevOps (VSTS)
    • Microsoft desktop and server operating systems
    • Anti-virus, Firewalls and Backup products
    • Azure Networking – Virtual Network Gateway, NSGs, App Gateway, WAF, LBs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in projects from concept to completion.
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership.

  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to identify process improvement opportunities.
