Values
State of Flux has eight core values that all our employees are expected to follow every day:
1. Trusted advisers – ‘safe pair of hands’. Our clients need to be able to trust the consultants they work with to deliver honest answers to problems, no matter how tough those answers may be. If we prove ourselves trustworthy, there is every chance that we will be invited to provide further assistance in the future.
2. Dynamic change catalysts. We always look for new ways to solve problems and increase efficiency. This applies as much internally as to client projects. By demonstrating a dynamic approach to projects, we show we can adapt to any circumstances and take challenges in our stride.
3. A ‘challenge culture’. This has two meanings: first, it is challenging to work at State of Flux and this keeps our employees motivated and interested in what they do. Rather than working on mundane and simple projects, they are given the opportunity to stretch themselves mentally, and this in turn promotes the development of skills such as resourcefulness. Second, we expect our consultants to constantly challenge decisions and processes and be unwilling to accept the status quo. Asking “why?” at every opportunity ensures that we never accept second-best.
4. Strive for excellence. Every employee needs to strive to deliver excellence at every level. Not only does this ensure that clients get excellent value for money and request more support, but as a firm we will be recognised for our endeavours and share in the benefits.
5. Enjoy what we do. This doesn’t necessarily mean being on the best projects with the best clients. Enjoyment comes from the sense of team spirit, of taking pride in the work that we do and in fostering a fun and friendly working atmosphere, both in our office and on client sites.
6. Be thought leaders. Our consultants aim to be at the forefront of procurement and supply chain thinking. By taking the time to approach a problem in a considered manner using the latest ideas and techniques we are able to show our clients that we understand their business and their needs, and can help them achieve their goals more effectively.
7. Get our clients promoted. We don’t take a short-term view of our projects. In working with our clients, we aim to help them to achieve – and in many cases exceed – their objectives and, in doing so, increase their chances of promotion. This strengthens our relationships and can lead to longer-term business opportunities.
8. Harness innovation. We aim to improve organisations by using the best, most innovative methods available. Innovation does not necessarily mean technology and complex processes; an innovative solution may be the simplest one available and this, along with the need to explore multiple options, should not be overlooked.
