State of Flux has recently conducted a global survey looking at leading practices on Supply Relationship Management

In this Ask The Expert call, IACCM interviewed Alan Day, Managing Director of State of Flux and explored whether customer organisations are choosing to provoke suppliers cost reductions or partner with them. Alan discussed the results of the survey especially the difficultly organisations have in creating the business case to partner with suppliers (and how customer organisations can help) and the return on investment with this.

Alan Day is the Managing Director and founder of State of Flux a global procurement and Supply Chain consultancy. Alan has grown the business from a start up to worldwide operations in just over 5 years. He with State of Flux have spearheaded a number of innovations within the procurement and supply chain industry, winning the British Insurance Award for Risk in the Supply Chain in 2007, launching a Supplier Account Management or SRM system and most recently releasing Procurement Futures predictive market. Within State of Flux he retains direct executive client management responsibilities for Barclays, Vodafone, Macquarie and Cisco. He is also Director of Ectimo an insurance recovery analytics organization and in his spare time consults to the International Trade Centre (a UN/WTO joint venture) on eTrade & Supply Chain.

Prior to State of Flux Alan's experience includes running Fisher & Paykel's Global Supply Chain, to Accenture, where Alan wrote the Accenture Supply Chain process and consulted to many Global clients such as British Airways, Shell, Microsoft, BSkyB, and Morgan Stanley to name a few. Alan was the Director of Accenture's Supply Chain European Centre of Excellence and also has spent time as Director of Procurement & Supply Chain at Cable & Wireless.
