State of Flux recently supported Crisis the charity for single homeless people, by purchasing a number of pieces of artwork. The art was created by homeless artists at the Skylight Cafe, a centre where homeless people take part in free practical and creative workshops ranging from art, bicycle repair to performing arts. This is one of a number of projects run by Crisis, who continue to build hope and futures for the many invisible homeless people throughout the country.
Crisis estimates that there are some 380,000 Hidden Homeless people living in hostels, squats and bed and breakfast accommodation or sleep on the floors of friends and family. Many are struggling with problems such as unemployment, family breakdown, mental ill health and substance abuse. This number is a city, only just smaller than Manchester. It is estimated this invisible city costs Britain 1.4 billion pounds per year. To find more about Crisis click on the picture below.
State of Flux happily supports Crisis especially as all proceeds that go to the charity passes directly to the artists themselves, who are encouraged to create more pieces of work. The artwork now adorns the State of Flux office walls and has made an impact on not only the staff but also clients and visitors.
